OTTは「Over the top」の略語です。

Over the top自体は「過度な」、「過度に多くの注意や努力を必要とする」という意味を持ちます。

私たちが最近よく使うOTTサービスやプラットフォームは、過去のようにケーブルを設置する必要なく、映画やテレビ番組をいつでもどの機器でも提供してもらえる方式を指します。
